Your Fleetwood RV is your home away from home, so your Fleetwood RV mattress should feel just as good as the one you sleep on at home! Sleeping well on the road doesn’t mean you have to spend thousands of dollars or struggle through the door with an innerspring. Finding your RV mattress replacement is quick and easy once you answer a few questions.
What RV mattress material is best?
There are three types of mattresses most people choose to replace their Fleetwood mattress: innerspring, latex, and foam. Popping into a brick-and-mortar store and buying an innerspring may seem like the simplest option, but they’re not practical for RVs. In most cases, they’re nearly impossible to fit through the door and tight spaces of an RV, and you don’t want to risk busting your windows or knocking your TV from its stand.
A latex mattress can be transported more easily than an innerspring, but the price tag is enough to turn away everyone but the most die-hard full-timers. That money can be better spent on a travel budget. A polyurethane foam mattress is just as comfortable and transportable, and it won’t break the bank.
How do I find my Fleetwood mattress measurements?
Space is already tight in an RV, so you want a mattress that will fit exactly where you need it. To do this, measure the space where you’re putting your mattress, not the old Fleetwood mattress itself! Round down to the nearest inch, and match that measurement with your replacement Fleetwood RV mattress.
If you have cut corners on your mattress, follow those same instructions, and you can order directly from Replacement-Mattress, in three easy steps. We can also help if you have a mattress of a different shape, such as large radius corners–just contact us for more details. More information can be found here.
What thickness should I choose?
A thicker mattress is always more comfortable, we recommend choosing one with a 5-inch thickness if you have height constraints like for bunk beds or cab over beds. An 8-inch mattress is the best choice for anyone weighing up to 250 pounds. You don’t have to worry about your hips and shoulders grinding on a hard surface.
Of course, ordering a mattress with memory foam adds a luxurious comfort to your good night’s sleep. A 6-inch mattress of polyurethane and a 2-inch memory foam layer gives you that “sleeping on a cloud” feeling.
Remember: the perfect end to a great day in your RV is a perfect night. Happy trails!
