Walt's Furniture is our parent company. It was founded in 1956 to
sell beds and other furniture. Over the years it changed from just a bed store into
its present form: Walt's sleep shop. Walt's now sells mostly beds. By 1975 we were making
our own mattresses in our factory located in Middletown, New Jersey.
This web site started in September of 2004. Since that time we have
sold over 7 thousand units on the web. We have never had an unresolved complaint...
Not one.
The most critical component of any sleeper sofa mattress is the foam.
Foam has two major properties to consider, density and compression. If either is too
low, the mattress will "take a set" while folded, leaving permanent "creases".
Our foams are among the best materials made. We use densities of 1.8 Lb (Gold Quality).
and 2.5 Lb. (Platinum Quality). Most of our competition use 1.5 Lb. to 1.8 Lb. density
foam . We are the only web site in the industry which clearly specifies our foam properties.
Our foams are also high compression. The high compression eliminates the most common
complaint from sleepers using a sofa bed, that they feel the bar pressing up against
your back. We also use a full 4" of these high density foams.
Every sleep sofa mattress we offer is made in America. It's made from
top quality foam to the highest standards of our industry. We follow the standard:
